How to be Equipoised

One of the main essence of Bhagavad Gita is, I am trying to implement in my life to be equipoised. It is not easy but slow practice is bringing effects. Lord Krishna says in Gita “practice will support to achieve it ” but

What exactly it means to be equipoised?

It simply means as per Bhagavad gita, the great British saying “Keep Calm and Carry On”. Definitely that is initial phase of understanding it, but when you go deeper into meaning, it signifies the importance of keep yourself neutral, regardless of happy sorrowful time. It has lots of underlying meaning which, I will explain more in next blog.

But why?

what is the big deal in keeping ourselves balanced mind, what it unlocks? Keeping mind balanced no doubt builds focus and enable us to see the bigger picture, it doesn’t distorts picture of situation by emotions/anger. This is how you get the key of your life. If this is not the case, then we simply get tossed by waves of ocean and we have no control.

But How?

Shri Prabhupad’s Gita has made it easy all around, simply build Krishna consciousness no need to do tough methods of so many Yogas like hatha yoga, ashtanga yoga, dry mental speculations to restrain from sense gratification as it comes with a lot of ground work but a devotee of the Lord automatically refrains, find it so easy because of superior taste of being in Krishna consciousness. In the next blog, I will elaborate more on Krishna consciousness to make the full sense of higher taste of life.

Insight Thoughts

Hello Friends

I am so sorry ,writing after long time, lots of things happened in the mean time, as I am moving towards more Krishan consciousness, a lot is happening and I needed time to absorb it. My personal life is changed to the level ,that in addition to leaving caffeine, I have left eggs, also onion and garlic as Krishna doesn’t like it. This is all to please Krishna. This is the result due to reading more gita, things are changing so fast. All I can say that this also due to listening my Guru Mother Shri Radhika KripaJi as well.

My obeisance to her.

Those who are Hindi speakers, I would definitely recommend to listen her lectures on you tube, she also sometimes does zoom lessons in English, check her Facebook page. The chapter 5 and 6 are elaborate explanation of Karma and Dhyana(focus) Yoga. Krishna explained to Arjuna that there are numerous types of yoga but if all this not moving towards to Supreme consciousness, then you will just end up in hard work all the time.

Yoga means process of linking oneself with Supreme. Such person should know his constitutional position as the living entity and act accordingly. The living entity has no separate identity, we are marginal energy of Supreme.

Life without strategy end up in hard work.

All types are simply useless, if someone doesn’t realise what is his eternal quality which is ” we are eternal servants of Krishna”.

Some lines from Bhagwad-Gita Chapter 6 Text 36

For one whose mind is unbridled, self realisation is difficult work. But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by appropriate means is assured of success.

Means : Trying to practice yoga while engaging the mind in material enjoyment is trying to ignite a fire while pouring water on it. Yoga without mental control is waste of time, such show may be material lucrative but useless as far as spiritual realisation is concerned, that’s why one must control mind by engaging in loving service of Supreme Lord.

Insight Thoughts

This post is mainly related to application of all knowledge gathered by the chapter 3. Before I move to chapter 4, it is important to reflect insights. The main application advantage of reading Geeta so far is that you learn to see the full framework/picture. You are no longer carried away from attached feelings all the time, you are fully convinced on the strong understanding. But this seems to be easy to say rather than done. It takes continuous practice each and every day.

At present I am feeling that moments are clearly communicating that you need to tear off the comfort layer, get more active, don’t waste a single moment not living in active consciousness, by the greatest tool is be firm in your regular spiritual day practices. The result is the holy sound/talk inside you become so strong enough to break your limited perspective, it is like falling deck of cards. I never thought in my life, that I would come across such a strong purification process, as a result I have recently left tea/coffee, fully caffeine free now.

You would think that what is the relation of caffeine?

As I am following daily spiritual practices ,it is bringing a transition phase, that’s why my queries have gone up, I wanted to know more about Krishna, what are special qualities makes him so popular? I came across a very influential speaker Nitaisevini Devi Dasi. Check the link http://nitaisevinimataji.in/

Her lecture on 64 qualities of Krishna part3 on YouTube, initial 13 min video made me so melting like that I started crying .It is explained so beautifully that Krishna is so merciful that every single day he forgives, on small effort for him, he gives back so much in return and for him we can’t leave caffeine, garlic/onion, non-veg diet, so small changes. These are simply hurdles in elevating consciousness, we just need to eat only that much to keep body healthy supporting our consciousness, and immediately I decided that I would leave caffeine. Since then there is no going back, I am enjoying transition the herbal teas.

Some lines from chapter 4

As a blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O arjuna, so does the fire of knowledge burn to ashes all reactions to material activities.

The Post Office(A boy’s paradise to be life)

I am starting this blog with an apology for all the readers because they might find this review not capable to capture the level of vibrancy that this young boy Amal holds.

Despite of illness, the boy was full of enthusiasm/energy  talking to different people via room window. His conversations were full of questions & answers so joyfully that actually made other people felt so divine about their work which they considered not much value. The talkative boy whoever he met like curd man,flower-seller,took no time to imagine small small details like how curd yells to sell, how his wife make cow stand in morning must be ful of fun.

I felt the need to watch it as well and this video definitely does full justice to the reading, unfortunately this is not available with English subtitles.

My favourite part of story when he expressed his desire to be like the man whom he met seeking work carrying brass pot and pile of bamboo woods on his head.He clearly was even more excited if he fails to find work because then he can watch that tired man sitting under fig tree, washing his feet in river stream, eating his lunch,it simply implies writer’s message that whatever struggle time of life is there ,it has nothing to do with opportunity you can always create to sing in tune with life.

His ultimate desire to be postman to deliver king’s message of love to houses in different countries, represents the fact, he just wanted to be ambassador of profound life unblocking our limited view towards normal daily small and simple things  of life.

The Year With Angels(Book Review)

One Sunday afternoon, when I was walking through the lane of books, not sure which book to pick up,suddenly, I got stopped by the first glance of the title and cover page of book. The first impression,is that book is quite handy, has quick quotes to read beautifully illustrated with nature pictures on the left page.I carried this book a lot, whenever my husband was driving during hectic schedule of going out in school holidays.

It is a new concept to divide overall quotes on the basis of four seasons of weather, linked to thoughts/feelings accordingly. The story telling pages on how to enjoy life, friendship, helping strangers, you are soul etc contributes in boosting the fact these are the ways to unlock love within us and guardian angels supports us in every possible way.The last story of winter season especially Christmas time made me feel very heavenly imagining snowfall in night time in which character paying great attention to snowflakes to feel message from loved ones.

The book is definitely written with confidence, highlighted for not doubting the first thought comes for helping the strangers. One Saturday afternoon, one of my friend’s 9 year old daughter came for play-date and had a glance on the book, she immediately asked me,if she can read it,she took no time to ask her mummy if she can borrow or order this book. I am posting an interesting interview of the writer.

My personal view is that even though you don’t believe in Angels/God but the book is simply worth in the sense to feel strength that there is always help around you and we just need to be more responsive by simplifying ourselves.

Buy it/Borrow it:I am also posting an affiliate link for the book or you can borrow from your local library.

Second phase of Book Review(The Broken Nest)

The second part of book review,I can say that it is discovery of inner self in relation to sudden changes of life that relates to mainly charu and bhupati.

I would say if you are more interested in quick pace of story and want to eagerly know what is going to happen in end then I wouldn’t recommend this book,as after dramatic change of situation the remaining story becomes dependent on two characters, unaware of how to fill the void came between them, writer has taken the liberty to elaborate compressed feelings leading to nonacceptance of each other even though they can clearly the see window of their  each other eyes which got absolutely cleaned via tears.

I am posting this video of gorgeous Amrita Puri who played the role of charu in the TV series of Stories by Rabindranath Tagore.

In addition to this, Satayajt ray’s black and white movie CharuLata does full justice to the story. The very last scene in which  charu holding letter of Amal and broke into tears supported by background music of fast coming train symbolises how the speed of time has shaken-ed  the nest, loved it.

I felt full worth to read this book and in the affiliate link below, recommend to buy or borrow from the local library. Please hit subscribe or comment,if you like this blog post.
