“Come Out,come away”

When I sit in the morning outside on the deck of my boat, before the majestic purple of the mountains crowned with the morning light,I know that I am eternal that I am ananda-rupam.

kashmir-compressor

My true form is not that of flesh and blood, but of joy.In the world where we habitually live, the self is so predominant that everything in it is of our own making and we starve because we have to feed upon ourselves. To know the truth is to become true;there is no other way. When we live the life of self,it is not possible for us to realize truth.

“Come out, come away.” This is the urgent cry we have in our soul-the cry in the blood of the chick, living in its shell.

These lines are from the book “Letters to Friend” by Rabindranath Tagore from page no 71 when he was in Srinagar Kashmir(October 1915).I don’t have any words or story to take a dig ,just a prevailing silence and willing to share with the readers.

Feeling Blessed to be part of such a old Book(Letters to Friend)

This book is very old and Tagore’s hand writing along with an old stamp is absolute bonus ,feeling so lucky to borrow from the local library.

20191019_232431

I must say this book is deep work of consciousness. The writer’s acceptance of his inner and outer world with full grace, glorified situations on positive note every single time, with his all time favourite companionship of nature. So far I have read only around 40 pages but I can feel an intense stillness which made its path through acceptance and deep realisation of life. Before the actual chapters begin, there is an essay on personality of Tagore gives insight how he found his bonding with nature in its fullest expression. These lines showcases, how he witnessed silently

“Sometimes I would pass many months alone without speaking ,till the voice grew thin & weak due to lack of use”.

The essay summarises influencing factors and how Tagore’s consciousness progressed towards using literature for country’s well-being resulted in opening a school in the lap of nature named as “Shantiniketan”.This video gives a good presentation of the place’s art work with Bengali language in the background.

This line touched me“I know that I must pass through death.God Knows it is the death-pang that is tearing open my heart”.Tagore had given death a liberating and an eternal truth face, clearly reflects how much he was in pain when surrounded by death of family members. As an artist,he took death as clay and moulded completely into a different shape.

I completely feel that I would be hunting lots of words to do full justice with the book review in the next post.

Slow pace but i am jealous with writer

One thing is absolutely clear that this book had been written in very much free time, heavily garlanded with poetry that makes me very jealous of writer simply because I love to feel time. The sluggish pace of story revealed that fragility of bachelor’s club members in keeping the vow of celibacy life long.

The frequent poetry and in between all Rasik Dada(big brother) ,non member of club emerged as the carrier to move story making fun via taking advantage of his age factor, romantic sense and this all got supported by poetry & nature.Although I was feeling that it is getting bit stretchy, but turned this to make rounds of tea/coffee.I would do little more leaking of story, how two new characters admission to Kumar Sabha Nirmala & Abalakanta put pressure on other members via their devotion towards taken social cause task.

In the last 30 pages, story picked the pace welcomed by Aksh again with his all time round joking habit and no doubt rasik dada’s timely comedy interruptions played key role to open doors for all the characters(friends and family) come together under one roof to witness different emotional stage guilty, realisation, happiness.

The last line for Kumar Sabha members ” Don’t expect you will be spared later” gave the last dose of laughter.

Chirakumar Sabha: The Bachelor’s Club: A Comedy in Five Acts

This time, I am attaching a short video clip from Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai(old version),as there is no media clip related to it ,but this book reminds of this family comedy I used to watch a lot.

Review of Chirakumar Sabha#The Bachelor’s Club#

This book is definitely full of comic sense and on the top of that the work of poetry is an added gem.

Now the question is how it proves?

The setting of story starts from the conversation of Aksh(husband) and Puro(wife) gives headstart in terms how Aksh previous member of a bachelor’s group vowed to never think about women ended up in marriage.

Aksh ‘s character did the very good job of filling the conversation with four lines of poetry every time when other characters are confused or in slight anger especially his wife. I would agree,A merrier person that even the married men will envy, these lines in book completely suits him.

I couldn’t find any media attachment in English. The dialogues between Aksh and prospective bride grooms were not just hilarious but reveals the full hippocratic nature which ended by another funny statement of Aksh that “as soon I slapped their back their tails began to wiggle”.The story had been to the point so far and a family’s way of doing comic sense reminds me time when brothers, sisters and other relatives all sit together, pull each other legs from memories or from a family situation.

Reading this book reminds me of the time when I was watching TV series of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai,a family comedy,in which different characters or different situations fueled more excitement and laughter.I don’t have relevant media but this trailer of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai(second version) will give you idea the crazy stuff I am enjoying.

The Post Office(A boy’s paradise to be life)

I am starting this blog with an apology for all the readers because they might find this review not capable to capture the level of vibrancy that this young boy Amal holds.

Despite of illness, the boy was full of enthusiasm/energy  talking to different people via room window. His conversations were full of questions & answers so joyfully that actually made other people felt so divine about their work which they considered not much value. The talkative boy whoever he met like curd man,flower-seller,took no time to imagine small small details like how curd yells to sell, how his wife make cow stand in morning must be ful of fun.

I felt the need to watch it as well and this video definitely does full justice to the reading, unfortunately this is not available with English subtitles.

My favourite part of story when he expressed his desire to be like the man whom he met seeking work carrying brass pot and pile of bamboo woods on his head.He clearly was even more excited if he fails to find work because then he can watch that tired man sitting under fig tree, washing his feet in river stream, eating his lunch,it simply implies writer’s message that whatever struggle time of life is there ,it has nothing to do with opportunity you can always create to sing in tune with life.

His ultimate desire to be postman to deliver king’s message of love to houses in different countries, represents the fact, he just wanted to be ambassador of profound life unblocking our limited view towards normal daily small and simple things  of life.

Dhai Aakhar Prem Ka Review(shesh rokkha)

This simple, comedy story written by Rabindranath Tagore is must watch episode of TV series Stories by Rabindranath Tagore.I tried to look for book but can’t find it,even though searched by original name of  Shesh Rokkha of story, but I couldn’t stop myself to post my views when I watched the story on TV.

I liked the slow-pace start of the story in which all poetry lovers gathered in chandrakath’s house ,taking dips in poetry and the way chandrakath’s wife turned around looking slightly miffed offering them rice snacks on lunch time despite of that how lovingly he asked her “What is this”?The fun part starts from the name confusion and how the characters play around, doing poetry for their lovers and in between all that the newly wed Binod Kamal observe in what ways they are different.

This preview of 7 minutes will provide wings to imagination about its beauty.

My favourite part is when kamal had a quick turn as soon as she stepped out of room after serving binod tea ,she saw binod pouring tea in plants, too good.At last when all the confusion got resolved, the end challenge was how to pacify parents genuinely asked to clear all this mess.

I must say when this book was written,it still seems to be very relevant nowadays, especially the characters of women. I can’t find the book but posting the link of classic short stories about women that would generate more idea/excitement of Tagore’s treasure chest of stories.

Second phase of Book Review(The Broken Nest)

The second part of book review,I can say that it is discovery of inner self in relation to sudden changes of life that relates to mainly charu and bhupati.

I would say if you are more interested in quick pace of story and want to eagerly know what is going to happen in end then I wouldn’t recommend this book,as after dramatic change of situation the remaining story becomes dependent on two characters, unaware of how to fill the void came between them, writer has taken the liberty to elaborate compressed feelings leading to nonacceptance of each other even though they can clearly the see window of their  each other eyes which got absolutely cleaned via tears.

I am posting this video of gorgeous Amrita Puri who played the role of charu in the TV series of Stories by Rabindranath Tagore.

In addition to this, Satayajt ray’s black and white movie CharuLata does full justice to the story. The very last scene in which  charu holding letter of Amal and broke into tears supported by background music of fast coming train symbolises how the speed of time has shaken-ed  the nest, loved it.

I felt full worth to read this book and in the affiliate link below, recommend to buy or borrow from the local library. Please hit subscribe or comment,if you like this blog post.

The Broken Nest(First Phase of Book Review)

Initially, I was thinking to review this book in only one post, but as I am reading more and more, the way the characters are playing around and story is setting different interesting plot,it is unfair to do that.

First of all,I would start seeing this story from the perspective of the women, who is not into complaining nature for husband Bhupati for being completely immersed in work because Charu’s thirst for literature/studying keeps her upbeat to life and that’s why entry of third character Amal(brother-in-law) in her life who has same interest sows the seeds of relationship.

Somehow,I am not willing give any name to this relationship because the way Tagore has given the blossoming nature to this, free from obtaining any standing in each other’s lives, it is simply based on fascination of ploughing land of poetry. I would describe in my words,as the story progresses the playfulness increases reflects writer’s affinity towards when in relationship people look for one excitement after another based bearing each other’s tantrums, making deals, also how entry of third character Manda(charu’s sister-in law) adds more twist,it all established beautiful links to make a memory book.

In between all of this how secretly a nest was building both in charu’s and bhupati’s heart and how they felt that when it was broken via different life situations.

I am posting link to order this book either via kindle or paper. The sample of the book can be read via kindle before you order.

Second Phase Of Book Review

After hectic time of moving to new house, finally I have found time to write the second part of book review. So I have completed stories

1.Samaj ka Shikaar  2. Prem ka Mualaya  3. Nayi Roshini  4. Kanchan  5. Kabuliwala

6. Dhan ki bhet 7. Aparitchita 8. Ahgunthan 9. Antim Pyaar 10. Anmol Bhet 11.Anath

Not all stories have happy ending as we all look for but also some stories have just normal turn to end it means character got satisfied through journey ,which left me thinking was that supposed to be the end or may be, I should just understand the essence of whole writing ,the way at that time human understanding/society works and enjoy that. The last page of Dhan ki bhet was full of climax and shocking in the sense how the life came back to the character  in respect of what misdeeds he did. Anmol bhet got me emotional in the sense how a father in repentance of losing his master’s son, came to the decision to give his own son to the master and left silently.

While reading Aparchita, the the middle part story has a big turn which empowered the character of daughter’s father at the sensitive moment of marriage, specially in the time when the story was written, followed by vivid imagination of lover using rain season, beautiful night time and lots more to cherish. There are lot of books by the author in English for that,I am posting some links to buy.

Enjoy the story world,it is really amazing to feel part of great writer’s work, also you connect with story but keeping the fact you need to enjoy maintaining a distance with it gives best of both world.
